Mermaids or Whales?

Extraction:

This is brilliant......

Recently, in a large French city, a poster featuring a young, thin and tanned woman appeared in the window of a gym.

It said: "THIS SUMMER DO YOU WANT TO BE A MERMAID OR A WHALE?"

A middle aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.

To Whom It May Concern:

Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans). They have an active sex life, they get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with dolphins, stuffing themselves with shrimp. They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia, the Barren Sea and the coral reefs of Polynesia. Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.

Mermaids don't exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They don't have a sex life because they kill men who get close to them, not to mention how could they have sex? Therefore they don't have kids either. Not to mention who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store?

The choice is perfectly clear to me; I want to be a whale.

P.S. We are in an age when media puts into our heads the idea that only skinny people are beautiful, but I prefer to enjoy an ice cream with my kids, a good dinner with a man who makes me shiver and a coffee with my friends. With time we gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room it distributes out to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy. Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, "Good gosh, look how smart I am

What if you forgotten if you have or not taken your medicine....

If the doctor prescribe you 3 times a day medicine and

In the afternoon, you were wondering if you have taken you 2nd dose for the day
And still cannot remember.

And the medicine is all pound in powder form already, there is no way for you to count backwards.

Do you decide to take the dose or not take in case you DID actually take the dose?

Can u remember this story??

I was watching the american idol last night and wondered about the courage of the contestants.

Then I remembered back in secondary school, (can’t remember the source of the story), either I heard from my tuition teacher or in some news but I know it happened in Singapore Examinations.

There was the essay examination and one of the given topics was

“Talk about courage”

And this particular Student chose this topic.

What the student wrote in his/her essay paper was these 6 words, JUST THESE SENTENCE!

“This is what I call courage.”

In perfect English, no grammer mistakes and spelling mistakes and the student submitted in!
Just 6 words

If I am not wrong, it was one of the ‘O’ level examinations, because it took about a few teachers to grade this student. After a few discussion....
they decided to pass the student, despite of not reaching the number of words mark!

Was it you?
Dont try it. Its not always the teachers are so ticked!

Why People come to our Life

I got this thro the email from Mei-Jin and its came just so rightly. I’m posting it
For a Meaningful read!

I am posting this to you to see how many actually read their e-mail. Your response will be interesting. Pay attention to what you read. After you have finished reading it, you will know the reason why you happen to be here reading it.

Here goes:

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.

When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.

They may seem like a God send and they are.

They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die.

Sometimes they walk away.

Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done.

The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to share, grow or learn.

They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.

They may teach you something you have never done.

They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. B

elieve it, it is real. But only for a season.!

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

做 人 难,

Its back to work after the weekend and again, nevertheless, it was filled with drinking and drinking. We had the family BBQ though and the post to come in a later!

And then I realised when I am in here that there is actually nothing to post, because what has been done has been done and what has been said has been said. So it was a moment of blankness suddenly and it gets like this so very often.

And in conjunction to the previous post,.. the quote of last night

做 人 难,
难 做 人,
人 难 做,

Translate literally ; -

To be a person is difficult
Difficult to be a PERSON
A person is difficult to be ???????

Funny thoughts of Notes

ITS FUNNY HOW you picture life.
Its funny how you see lovely couples turn into sour enemies
And its funny how the loved ones, the ones that sleeps together day In and out, the ones that we thought were the closest could get annoyed with each other.
Its funny how the ones we kiss and say I love you, could throw hurtful remarks at each other. The ones that stab right into the raw heart!
Its funny how love fails to over all these small errors
Instead we find patience in the outside friends, endurance towards them, and close the eyes of the ugly stuff.
Its funny how keen we are to accommodate our friends, and never tried to accommodate the small grey areas of our loved ones.
And its funny how people choose to hide in dismay when one other finds you annoying
Its funny how we humans are,.

Love Poems

The spent words still stinging
between us coldly settle,
preventless as the evening
dew: whey on grey metal.

The moon is milk mirrored
in ice of her own making
so soon to be shivered
my heart sheers near breaking.

Why, why balk we tongueless
and let distance thicken?
Love dies, dies defenseless,
proud-booted, mute stricken.

A poem i came across

Sound depressing but with God in, what could be worst?

My Dreams…..

I saw you in my dreams last night
You were standing next to me
And smiling as you held my hand
The way it’s supposed to be
We were laughing as we walked
And then we stopped to kiss
I awoke with my heart pounding
I could no longer feel the bliss
In a second I remembered
That you’re no longer there
My tears poured out instantly
My heart melted in despair
I held on to your picture
And I stared down at your face
I begged you to come back to me
But you were gone without a trace
I miss your arms around me
How I’ve ached to feel your touch
But you no longer want to have
This love I feel so much
I don’t know what you’re doing
Or if you are missing me
So I’ll just lay back down in bed
And be with you in my dreams.

I’ll pack your things up in a box….

I'll pack your things up in a box
And today put you away.
I won't bother with a long goodbye
Because there's nothing left to say
There are no arms to comfort me
And there's nothing to believe
What I thought was love wasn't
Or else you wouldn't leave.
I've sat here and I've wondered
Why it matters not to you
I guess it really wasn't love
Or this would be something you can't do.
Just once I wish it was reversed
That it was you who wanted me
Because I know I'd change my mind
If you were holding on to me.
I'd tell you I can't leave you,
And if I go I need you to come
But those aren't the words you said to me
It simply was "you aren't the one".
You said I taught you how to love
Well I've failed you if that's true
Because love isn't something you can quit
It's something you can't help but do.
You say that this is best for us
How on earth can I agree
When the only thing I want
Is you standing next to me.
So now I know I was mistaken
God how it hurts to know it's true
So I'll pack your things up in the box
With my love and dreams of you.

Too clean also is a mental illness

What could be worst than to have a mental illness, sickness? The thought of cleanliness has obsessed some so greatly that each time, the hand touches anything that the naked eye sees as “dirty”, will immediately be under the running water, soap it and washes it several times before the person decided that “it’ is cleaned again. Any contact with other human or the public caused the person to jump and start washing the area of the body again.

Too cleaned, too hygienic, sometimes it ain’t very good as well. Well, as we have discuss, today, could sometimes jolly well be the start of a mental sickness, if not corrected, would lead to a prolonged damaged in the state of the physiological mind.

A Recap from Oprah

A Recap from Oprah:-
( and for the men to know,.. this is hilarious)

  • Never live your life for a man before you find what makes you truly happy.
  • Don't settle. If you feel like he is stringing you along, then he probably is.
  • Don't stay because you think it will get better. You'll be mad at yourself a year later for staying when things are not better.
  • Maintain boundaries in how a guy treats you. If something bothers you, speak up.
  • If a man wants you, nothing can keep him away. If he doesn't want you, nothing can make him stay.
  • Never let a man know everything. He will use it against you later.
  • If he cheated with you, he'll cheat on you. A man will only treat you the way you ALLOW him to treat you.
  • All men are NOT dogs. You should not be the one doing all the bending...compromise is two way street.

You should never look for someone to COMPLETE you...a relationship consists of two WHOLE individuals...look for someone complimentary... not supplementary.

A Doctor's Story

An Extraction: - touching story

" It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watchand decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.

On exam it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound. While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had a doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.

I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for awhile and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease. As we talked, and I finished dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him. "And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?"

He smiled as he patted my hand and said. She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is."

I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, andthought,

"That is the kind of love I want in my life."

True love is neither physical, nor romantic. True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be. With all the jokes and fun, sometimes there are some that come along that have an important message, and this is one of those kind. Just had to share it with you all.

14 Maybe....s.....

  1. Maybe...We are supposed to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that, when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.
  2. Maybe...when the door of happiness closes, another opens; but, often times, we look so long at the closed door that we don't even see the new one which has been opened for us.
  3. Maybe...it is true that we don't know what we have got until we lose it, but it is also true that we don't know what we have been missing until it arrives.
  4. Maybe...the happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
  5. Maybe...the brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; after all, you can't go on successfully in life until you let go of your past mistakes, failures and heartaches.
  6. Maybe...you should dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you dream of and want to do.
  7. Maybe...there are moments in life when you miss someone -- a parent, a spouse, a friend, a child -- so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real.
  8. Maybe...the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had. We should all have one. Maybe...you should always try to put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that something could hurt you, it probably will hurt the other person, too.
  9. Maybe....you should do something nice for someone every single day, even if it is simply to leave them alone.
  10. Maybe...giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back. Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but, if it doesn't, be content that it grew in yours.
  11. Maybe...happiness waits for all those who cry, all those who hurt, all those who have searched, and all those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of all the people who have touched their lives.
  12. Maybe...you shouldn't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.
  13. Maybe...you should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy.
  14. And the last maybe.....when you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Maybe...you should try to live your life so that when you die, you are the one who is smiling and everyone round you is crying.

Love is not about finding the perfect person, it's about learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.

If Sorrys could mean so much

If sorry could erase the hurts that has been inflicted upon oneself
If sorry could erase the unhappiness of the past
If sorry could erase the unhappy memories and the loneliness felt
If sorry could erase the wrong doings
If sorry could erase the cries of the night

If sorry means going forward to a making a better tomorrow
If sorry means curbing the bad points and attitude
If sorry means trying to love and respect oneself
If sorry means knowing the right direction
If sorry means knowing oneself own faults and mistakes

Unfortunately, the sorries of today have been so superficially used in ourselves.

Heartfelt blessing

From Yeng

Here is today's heartfelt blessing:

"Truths For Living:
The more generous we are, the more joyous we become.
The more cooperative we are, the more valuable we become.
The more enthusiastic we are, the more productive we become.
The more serving we are, the more prosperous we become.
The more outgoing we are, the more helpful we become.
The more curious we are, the more creative we become.
The more patient we are, the more understanding we become.
The more persistent we are, the more successful we become."
~ William Arthur Ward, U.S. college administrator, 1921-1994

And the more determined we are to live up to our full potential, the closer to doing so we become.

The Road is never Long

Sometimes in life, you find a special friend;
Someone who changes your life
just by being part of it.
Someone who makes you laugh
until you can't stop;

Someone who makes you believe
that there really is good in the world.
Someone who convinces you
that there really is an unlocked door
just waiting for you to open it.
This is Forever Friendship.
Have an awesome day, and know that someone has thought about you

Some thoughts to Share

Forwarded from AK:

“”” *This is without a doubt one of the nicest forwards I have received.Hope it works for you -- and me! ** ** ** *

Hi Something NICE for all of you :-)

*1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. **

2. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other. **

3. Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. **

4. When you say, "I love you," mean it. **

5. When you say, "I'm sorry," look the person in the eye. **

6. Be engaged at least six months before you get married. **

7. Believe in love at first sight.** ** **

8. Never laugh at anyone's dream. People who don't have dreams don't have much.**

9. Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely.** **

10. In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.** ****

11. Don't judge people by their relatives.** ****

12. Talk slowly but think quickly.** ****

13. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, "Why do you want to know?" ** **

14. Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk. ***

15. Say "bless you" when you hear someone sneeze. ** *

16. When you lose, don't lose the lesson** ***

17. Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.** ****

18. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship.** ** **

19. When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.** *

20. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice. ****

21. Spend some time alone.* *

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.
